Our 3-layer step profile Hammerfest (hammer fleece) staircase DST is a 1 meter wide non-woven fiber profile, consisting of highly compressed, thermally fixed recycled fibers, a fully laminated surface reinforcement using a plastic mesh grid and a fully laminated new PE film. Thanks to its very high grammage of 850g/m², this profile enables the user to protect steps and stairs from high mechanical impact such as impacts and heavy foot traffic. Its elastic yet firm nature allows the processor to lay DST1-46 around edges and recesses with little effort (using a cutter or scissors). The profile has a perforated folding edge at 17/29 cm and is therefore suitable for all standard stair dimensions. The spunbond, which is fully laminated on the top, increases the barrier effect against liquids, ensures that there is less color irritation and makes it easier to sweep and vacuum the surface. The new PE film, fully laminated on the underside, serves as a vapor barrier/liquid barrier, making DST suitable for all types of permanently dry stairs, such as those made of painted wood.

After equipping the step (see processing instructions), the step profile Hammerfest Staircase DST is applied to the step with strips of the double-sided adhesive tape Kip 210 Duobands, folded at the perforated edge, and fixed. This creates a high level of mechanical protection on all types of permanently dry stairs immediately after application for around 6 weeks. The Kip Duoband must be replaced after 6 weeks!
